The Joy of Business Travel
I'm writing this from a hotel in St. Louis and couldn't be happier. Why? I get paid a per diem rate by my employer for travel. The current rate for St. Louis is $59 for meals and incidental expenses. I get a continental breakfast at the hotel, and can sure eat lunch and dinner for less than $59. I drove (I can't fly - call it a phobia if you will), and will spend far less than the mileage payment on gas (the beauty of an economy car). Heck, I even got an oil change before the trip, and the mileage paid for that as well. I'll be reimbursed the actual cost of the hotel.
So I look to make money from the trip. And that goes on the credit card, further paying down that debt. Unless something Really Bad happens this year, I will exceed my goal for credit card debt payment. And, as Martha would say, is a Good Thing.
